About

Don Ricky Bakery was founded in 1976 by the Rojas family. It has been a success story and a staple of the Latino Business Community in Elizabeth, one of the most diverse cities in the State of New Jersey. When the Rojas Family found that there was a high demand for home baked goods, pastries with sweet fillings, and now their famous Gluten Free Yucca Bread they branched out into making their own freshly baked breads, which they continue to this day. Because they sell yucca bread, cakes, guava pastries and other small but luxurious items, they have been able to ride the waves of economic boom and bust in New Jersey.

Sandra Rojas the business owner, is a Latino Entrepreneur with tenacity and great experience. In 2011 she purchased the family business after her father retired and has dedicated herself to bringing her family business into the 21st century innovating daily operations and emphasizing  customer relations.

Don Ricky Bakery is a business with great standing. Having all of its certificates up to date and keeping its relations with business partners is a priority for Sandra and her husband. Don Ricky Bakery is in an Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) and is an important business in the (NPP) Neighborhood Preservation Program where Sandra is the liaison between the State of New Jersey and the neighborhood commercial zone. She has worked tenuously to integrate all of the businesses and survive episodes like Covid-19. One of her strategies includes the delivery to other bakeries like Big Booty Bread Co. in New York City that sells most of her pastries and breakfast empanadas.

We’re dedicated to kickstarting your morning with warm breads, pandeyuca, pandebono y pan caliente and a cup of hot coffee!
